Main areas of responsibility
System configuration, launch and management.
Other areas of responsibility envisaged include:
During the Start up phase some administration responsibilities and duties as required to support the set-up of a new office.
Developing customer support services together with company manager.
Specific activities and tasks to be performed during Start-Up phase
Primarily pre-launch requires set-up, configuration and testing of hosting software:
Preparation for installation - including definition of installation and testing plan...
Preparation for installation - including technical activities such as set up of server environment (Linux, most probably RedHat Enterprise distribution), supporting virtual environments, assignment of IP addresses and preparation of name servers...
Installation of hosting software within virtual environment, based upon user manuals and 2 week support programme provided by software vendor.
Configuration of software to support company specific commercial offerings (GUI / control panel interfaces available).
Front end web site build - co-ordinated with web designer/developer - to integrate with 'out of the box' store functionality.
Ability to tackle custom application requirements using SDK development tools. (Requires technical capability with Shell Prompts and SOAP XML API).
Post-launch
As previous activities plus:
Operational management responsibility for system.
Determining support staff requirements (in collaboration with company manager).
Other activities as directed.
Skills and experience requirements:
Required
Linux server administration experience.
Technical skills :- demonstrable experience of working with, preferably complex, web server environments / administering IP address allocations etc.
Demonstrable experience of developing applications/customisations with SDK (Software Development Kits) using the programming commands and protocols indicated above.
Big technical "brain" and strong desire to work with leading edge automated hosting and billing solutions, involving services deployed through use of multiple virtualised OS.
High level of fluency in English required, must be able to cope with large volume of technical documentation. Preferred includes: Bi-lingual Spanish or high fluency in Spanish.

Experience of developing applications with PHP.

Previous experience of administering hosting solution software.
Experience of developing web sites/applications with CSS and working with Adobe web development software products.
